BSWB attorneys serve as editors of a special edition of AIRROC Matters

Summer, 2007

Michael T. Walsh and Maryann Taylor served as editors of a special edition of AIRROC Matters, a publication of the Association of Insurance and Reinsurance Run-Off Companies. The theme of the 2007 summer special edition is commutations.

One of the centerpieces of the issue is a roundtable discussion on the legal, regulatory, business and actuarial perspectives of commutations moderated by Mike Walsh. The freewheeling conversation crystallizes some of the key issues and trends in the field from the viewpoint of experts from a variety of disciplines. The 2007 summer special edition also contains articles from other industry experts, including a nuts-and-bolts guide to negotiating commutation agreements and a look at the business and legal aspects of drafting a commutation agreement and avoiding subsequent litigation. There is even a lighthearted commentary by Art Coleman relaying some of the unique personal commutation experiences of unnamed sources, as well as an analysis of the Equitas and Berkshire Hathaway transaction by Mike Palmer.
