LLC, announces Jill M. Levy and Thomas M. Sheffield as Principals

Black, LLC, is proud to announce Jill
M. Levy and Thomas
M. Sheffield have joined the firm as principals in the NY and
Chicago offices.
Jill M. Levy acts as coverage counsel
for major professional liability lines, including directors and
officers’ liability, bankers and financial professional liability,
errors and omissions, fiduciary liability and employment practices
liability.
Presently, Ms. Levy represents several
carriers with respect to potential exposure arising out of numerous
large corporate scandals, including WorldCom, Enron and IPO Laddering
litigation. She has been involved in the mediation of several large
claims and participated in the negotiation of policy settlements.
For the past two years, Ms. Levy
has been a speaker at the American Banker's Association Insurance
Risk Management Annual Conference and participated on a panel addressing
the recent trends in directors and officers liability. Ms. Levy
also serves as a volunteer attorney for the Network for Women's
Legal Services and the Unemployment Action Center.

New York office.
Thomas M. Sheffield concentrates
his practice on directors and officers and professional liability
insurance coverage work. Mr. Sheffield has extensive experience
working with financial institutions products including errors and
omissions, fidelity bonds and other coverages. He specializes in
cases involving securities class actions and has developed numerous
analytical tools to critique securities class action damages and
the legal theories that surround them. Additionally, Mr. Sheffield
has handled many cases relating to mutual funds and annuities in
both the United States and the United Kingdom, as well as the liability
and coverage issues surrounding them.
Mr. Sheffield is a licensed Solicitor
in England and Wales and is a member of the Law Society. He is licensed
in the United States in both Illinois and Florida. Mr. Sheffield
is fluent in Spanish and has served as a wild land firefighter for
the United States Forest Service.
