Maria Z. Vathis has extensive experience with defending clients in complex business litigation matters involving contracts, fraud, business torts, and professional liability. Maria also has experience litigating first-party property coverage actions with multi-million dollars at stake, including cases involving catastrophic losses, property damage, environmental contamination, and issues such as business interruption. Her practice also includes analyzing insurance coverage under first-party property, commercial general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies. In addition, Maria handles the defense of class actions involving alleged violations of federal statutes. She handles litigation nationwide in both federal and state courts. Maria is the Immediate Past President of the Chicago Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and a board member of the Hellenic Bar Association. Maria is an active member of the American Cancer Society’s Associate Board of Ambassadors and co-chairs the fashion committee.
