Maryann Taylor has extensive commercial litigation and arbitration experience with an emphasis on reinsurance disputes. Maryann's reinsurance arbitration experience entails a broad array of ceded coverages, such as workers' compensation and occupational accident, asbestos liability and all forms of property and casualty business. Maryann's practice also encompassed all types of reinsurance agreements, including treaty, facultative, stop loss, automatic and semi automatic contracts, whether on an excess of loss or proportional basis. Maryann has dealt with claims ranging from the validity of the acts of 9/11 as vandalism, to fraud and misrepresentation claims giving rise to rescission, as well as allocation and occurrence issues.

On the reinsurance transactional side, Maryann has drafted and participated in negotiations of diverse types of treaty wording, facultative, fronting and retrocession agreements, loss portfolio transfers and managing general agents agreements.

Complementing her reinsurance background, Maryann also has substantial experience in insurance regulatory matters ranging from formation and licensing of insurance companies, compliance matters, mergers, acquisitions, surplus lines status and tax issues. Maryann has served as regulatory counsel to accident and health and property and casualty company clients.
