Before joining BSWB, Polina concentrated in general litigation and insurance coverage work with a litigation firm in Chicago. As an associate, she was intensely involved in all aspects of litigation, where she was responsible for her own caseload, from inception to trial, often taking the lead in depositions and in court. She has extensive experience in the underlying matters that result in insurance coverage suits, including neglience, defamation and contract. She has successfully plead and argued discovery motions, including winning on summary judgment. Prior to entering private practice, Polina focused on federal court litigation and intellectual property, specifically e-commerce. She clerked for the District Court for the District of Columbia, where she researched and wrote opinions on discovery and dispositive issues. Before clerking, she helped write guidelines for an online financial transactions industry trade group, and had her memo on proposed changes to radio broadcast frequencies presented to the board of directors of the national publically-funded radio broadcaster.

Prior to a career in law, Polina enjoyed working as a writer and journalist for national and local newspapers, books and magazines.
