| Ari Magedoff’s practice
focuses on the representation of insurers in insurance
coverage matters arising from professional liability
policies, notably in the area of directors and officers
liability. Ari also practices in the firm’s
litigation section, counseling clients with regard
to professional liability claims against the officers
and directors of business corporations and condominium
or cooperative associations.
Before joining BSWB, Ari practiced in the areas
of commercial litigation, securities litigation,
products liability litigation, intellectual property
and insurance coverage. Ari’s extensive litigation
experience included representing financial institutions
in the Enron and Worldcom securities litigations
and representing a leading pharmaceutical company
in the Vioxx products liability litigation.
In October 2003, Ari drafted an article published
in CCH Issues in Aviation Law and Policy. His article
analyzed a major U.S. airline's Board of Directors'
fiduciary duties to its shareholders for radical
changes the airline made to its frequent flyer program.
Ari also co-authored an article and speech on civil
liability for online activities presented in May
2005 at the Universidad Externado de Colombia Information
Society conference in Bogota, Colombia.
Ari earned his law degree from Seattle University
School of Law in May 2003. Prior to law school,
Ari attended the University of Miami where he graduated
cum laude in May 2000 with a degree in political
science and history. Outside of the office, Ari’s
interests include middle and near east archaeology,
ancient and contemporary history, computers and
