insurance products, including, for example, directors and officers liability
policies, insurance companies and brokers errors and omissions, and employment
practices liability policies. David had investigated and evaluated claims involving
a wide range of alleged business wrongdoing, including antitrust, civil rights
(including all types of discrimination and harassment) shareholder class and
derivative claims and financial and commodities futures trading. His litigation
experience included representing insurers in matters involving coverage interpretation
as well as defending insurers from claims of bad faith or unfair claims practices.
David first practiced law with Peterson & Ross in 1986 in Los Angeles but
moved to Chicago in 1990 at which point his practice focus shifted from
defending insurers against bad faith claims to the investigation and monitoring
of liability claims on behalf of insurers. His strength as an attorney included
participation in numerous mediated settlements as well as exposure to and involvement
in claims involving numerous types of coverage, including general liability,
life, professional errors and omissions and fidelity and surety. David had also
assisted insurers with underwriting concerns and the drafting of policy wordings.
